    A nicely preserved Platybelodon sp. upper tooth from Gansu, China, Late Oligocene!
    Platybelodon is an elephant-like animal which lived in Eurasia during the late Oligocene, with massive size. The name of Platybelodon is based on its flat-spear tusks, which‘s the iconic feature of Platybelodon. Since the animal got a really huge population during late Oligocene, one of the dominant fauna in Northern China in the time is name after it.
    The tooth is preserved with fascinating coloration and enamel details. It's measured around 9.3 cm/3.66 inches.
